Hello all,
I moved back here about a year ago and recently added a boxer to my family. We love to go rollerblading together but so far have only gone around the 'hood. I'm looking for dog friendly parks, not dog park, where we could go and where the asphalt isn't all beat up and in bad need of resurfacing, like it was at Carmichael park. Hiking spots would also be appreciated.
I've looked online at the parks webpages but they don't give much information about rollerblading so I was hoping for some personal experiences.
Also, is there some kind of cabaret scene here with live shows, I seem to find out about all the cool stuff after it's happened and yes I do pick up the N&R.
Thanks in advance all

Re: Places where me and my dog can go rollerblading
Thu, January 24, 2008 - 3:56 PMHow 'bout the American River Parkway? They do have a leash law, though...not sure if you're thinking off-leash or not.
In what neighborhood do you live? -

If it's what I'm thinking of there's no rollerblades or skateboards allowed just bikes. Too bad because it would be perfect.

Re: Places where me and my dog can go rollerblading
Fri, January 25, 2008 - 12:42 AMI stand corrected.
The Jebediah-Smith memorial trail is open to rollerblading according to the website. When I was there last week checking it out with the doggie I saw a very worn spraypainted sign on the trail itself that stated no rollerblades or skateboards. Looks like rollerblades are allowed now.

Re: Places where me and my dog can go rollerblading
Fri, January 25, 2008 - 10:11 AMYou know - I almost wrote a question about rollerblading being allowed on the parkway. I don't blade myself, but I thought I remember there being a big controversy several (7-8?) years ago about whether to allow them or not. I tried looking for regs on the parkway website - www.sacparks.net/rules-reg...index.html - but they only had info about dogs, river & food (huh?) safety, and hours/permits...perhaps I just missed it. -

Sun, January 27, 2008 - 9:17 PMIt was under Our Parks. I had to dig around for it. Not much info on inline skating in general it seems.
Here's the link
